MURDER IN WOOLWICH

I have nothing more to add to that which has already been said about the despicable murder in Woolwich. I will leave it to others more qualified.

However, having watched and listened to the video of one of the alleged murderers, who said, “We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you. We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I apologise that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don't care about you."

It tends to shape an opinion.

Listening to the 24hr News reports, it appears to me that everyone is currently falling over themselves not to mention the obvious. To keep a lid on it!

We have, I believe, reached a stage in the once proud country where we either bury our heads in the sand, or eradicate this evil from our presence.
.
It’s high time our politicians woke up! Stopped hiding behind 'European Human Rights' and grew a backbone!

Other than that, I’m sure I speak on behalf of everyone who regularly posts comments on my humble blog in sending our sincerest sympathy to the young wife and family of Lee Rigby and to his friends and colleagues.

A few impatient fanatics isn't the problem, it's what's going on in the maternity wards of Blackburn, Brent, Luton, High Wycombe, Tower Hamlets, Bradford, Dewsbury, Slough, Oldham, Birmingham, Enfield, Pendle, Kirklees, Hackney, Leicester etc etc.

  5. Curmudgeon, you imply that politicians and the news media are somehow reluctant to "mention the obvious", without mentioning it yourself. Likewise you make a fleeting mention of an "evil" in our presence. Care to elaborate further?

If you're suggesting the causal link I think you are, I fear you are deeply misguided in your beliefs.

@ John Kirkbride, Run away is your advice. Remember the spirit of Agincourt, Trafalgar, Waterloo and The Somme. Good job your ancestors didn't run isn't it.

  7. Anonymous, if you think I am misguided in my beliefs perhaps you are more in tune with our PM, who, speaking in reaction to the atrocities said that he intends to head-up a new Tackling Extremism and Radicalisation Task Force (TERFOR) made up of senior Ministers, MI5, police and moderate religious leaders. To which he claims “We will do everything we can to stop it.” 'We are looking at the range of powers and current methods of dealing with extremism at its root!”
And then went on to say, “this new group will study the issue in great depth before acting.'
    Stunning!
So now, we have a specially selected group who must first study in depth the theology or learn the ways of Islamism before they can act!
This committee will either be the usual talking shop to make it look as if it is doing something, or it will come up with the usual ill-considered policies that restrict the freedom of everybody.

  8. In 1897 the N-W Frontier of India erupted in a massive tribal uprising of the Pathans. The most religiously fundamental of whom were the Swatis of the Swat valley. The same people who today are the tribe most influenced in the area by the Taliban.

There is nothing needs to be newly learned about these people that was not learned by the Victorians.

See "The Pathans" by Sir Olaf Caroe
"Barrack room Ballards" by Rudyard Kipling (esp "Advice to a young British Soldier", "Tommy" and "Arithmetic on the Frontier")
