They'll take your money, just like they've done in Cyprus!" |
In bouncing from one wild remark to another, councillor Taylor not only makes himself look
ridiculous, but, with his consistency in trotting out his weekly student union
rhetoric, he must be first in line for Labour’s Poster Boy of Ridiculousness 2013.
For instance, in his letter he bangs on about the ‘You
Choose’ event, where deserving groups bid for money that has apparently been ‘saved’
from recycling. But it was only last week that Tameside's council leader, in attempting to
justify the hike in council tax, first tried to tell us it was all down to
government cuts, then revealed that the raise was entirely due to the increase in the cost of waste
disposal, which the council as an authority has no control over. Which
basically, means that we’re paying an extra 3.5% in council tax, to fund a bureaucratically
botched PPI scheme dreamt up by one department, so that another department can then
give any savings away!
Then after
waffling on for another eight paragraphs covering the same old ground, he
finally got to ride his hobby horse by launching into the ‘savage cuts’ and how the Tory led government, should now stop blaming the
last government for the world problems in the financial sector, which has led
us to this situation.
Now this I call
rich, coming from a serial Tory hater who still lays the blame for all the world’s
current ills at the door of Margaret Thatcher, who left office some 23 years
ago!
At times he must a psychologist’s dream! - At best a beta male trying to be something
that he is not: an alpha male.
The councillor’s letter this week has merely crystallized the fact that his party’s leaders really
do not have a plan or workable policy to get the country working again; their
only plan seems to revolve around demonizing the coalition.
In knocking welfare changes, Labour is again on traditional
territory. Among those hit by any reductions in welfare are bound to be people
existing near or on the breadline. Labour wants to stick up for them and thinks
emotional attacks are the way to do it. But in doing so, all they seem to be
advocating is recommending sustained moral degeneracy.
Most thinking people are now of a mind that the welfare bill
needs serious pruning. Unfortunately, Labour just wants to borrow more and
throw more money at it!
As for John Taylor, well if one is prone to predicting that
the end of the world is at hand, don’t be surprised if people think you are
daft when the sun comes up the next morning and the world is still merrily spinning
on its axis.
Don't expect his demotion any time soon because a)he's no threat. b) he makes Quinn look good, by comparison.
ReplyDeleteNo threat, maybe. But just imagine the future for Tameside, should the leader not get re-elected?
DeleteStep forward the puppet master.
Great Article!!! Just Love these My Friend.
ReplyDeleteWe need to cut the oversea's aid budget. No, this is not a "bash Johnny foreigner" rant but a serious series of questions.
ReplyDeleteWhy do we spend / have spent £1bn on an "aid" package to India? A country with more millionaires than the Uk, a space programme and nuclear weapons? Bribes for more arms contracts? The cash should stay in the UK.
We have all seen the heart rending advertisements for clean water charities in Africa. But these countries have wealth...they also have corrupt leaders who loot their own nations and ignore their own people. Mobutu of Zaire looted £4bn! We cut the dole of British scroungers who do not look after their kids and yet we assume the burden of the likes of Mugabe in sending him "dole"!
Fair comment but it's not just Taylor. It's been the same old failed crew re-elected time and again by monkeys who would vote for ANYONE wearing a red rosette. Look at the state of the schools, hospital, one of the most difficult areas to find work, all areas where Tameside has a record of chronic and ongoing failure.
ReplyDeleteWe need a clear out at the top to re-invigorate our borough.
