Well, well. The long held view that the UK had the best regulatory
systems and one of the safest food standards in the world, has once again been found wanting.
Just like the Banking crisis before it, you’ve got to ask if
we have incompetent senior managers running the industry and inept politicians
and useless European bureaucrats making the rules.
After all it’s worth pointing
out it was a Labour Government that scrapped tests for the presence of horse
meat in 2002 and scrapped other meat inspections in 2006.
Add to that the fact that our Minister has claimed that he could not stop horsemeat being imported to the UK because of EU rules.
It's strange really, because I'm sure that I remember the French and the Germans had no problems with EU rules when it came to banning imports of British beef during the BSE hysteria!

From now on we should demand that British Beef should be
supplied to British outlets from British sources and companies.
What Britain needs is a campaign to buy British meat - not more more regulation! We migyht even get some real home grown 'growth'
