When it all came out we find he’d fiddled nearly £20 grand
in expenses for an office he claimed was set-up in the garage of his South
Yorkshire home. Signed claims with a “nom de plume” purporting to come from
someone who did not in fact exist. He’d also claimed thousands of pounds for
eight computers that mysteriously ‘got lost’ and submitted 19 false invoices
which were "plainly intended to deceive".
At the end of the news piece we were told that despite all
the evidence against him, Mr MacShane could not be prosecuted because of ‘House
of Commons Rules!’ Therefore the Metropolitan Police have dropped its investigation
into Mr MacShane after receiving advice from the Crown Prosecution Service.
If that was any of us, fraudulently obtaining more than £20,000
in Housing Benefit or tax credits we would be ordering porridge for breakfast and dreading the
daily trip to the showers!
These MPs make the laws, and make sure if they get caught
thieving, lying, cheating or doing anything wrong they are protected by parliamentary
privilege. Folks, it stinks. Whichever way you spell it out, it's fraud and
fraud carries a jail term.
No wonder our country is going down the pan and we ‘plebs’
are all broke whilst many of these MPs are sitting laughing at us!
Meanwhile, Ed Miliband says…nothing!
